Private Yoga Therapy is when a individual meets with a yoga therapist and moves through a formal intake process for the yoga therapist to learn and understand the unique needs and wellness goals of the client. The yoga therapist then creates a personalized yoga therapy session and or program to support the client in achieving their wellness goal through evidence based tools and techniques such as meditation, breathe work and physical yoga postures.

Is Private Yoga Therapy for me?

Do you have the most optimized health?

Do you have a condition or illness that is worsened by stress?

Pain or fatigue in your body or mind?

Do you find yourself wishing you had tools for the above?

Honestly, we all have this idea of who we want to be, how we want to feel in body & mind but we do not always know how to get there, how to become that person. Yoga Therapy supports you by empowering you with education, practical tools, and most importantly with some one who is in your corner who is willing to walk with you every step of the way.

What makes it different from a “normal” yoga class?

Therapeutic Yoga is Yoga, however, there are subtle differences between taking a regular yoga class and a therapeutic yoga class or private session.

The average yoga class may have a different intention or be more fitness-minded. In the average hatha, flow, or power yoga class there will be 60+ postures to move through. In a therapeutic yoga class, you may move through 6 - 12 various techniques. The meditation may be one of the 6 - 12 techniques, the pranayama (breathwork) is another, each posture or mini flow is another!

In this style, the yoga therapist takes time to notice how each technique felt for the practitioner. The yoga therapist is checking in with you along the way. When you take a therapeutic class with Breanna, she takes the time to educate you on your body and the practice. This way you can cultivate a deeper awareness about what you are doing, how to do it as well as understand how the class is working towards your mental and physical health goals.

Everyone comes to therapeutic yoga for a different reason, perhaps you have a health condition or chronic pain. Perhaps you struggle to sleep at night or experience frequent anxiety. In a therapeutic setting, we craft the practice with you as a whole person in mind. Every aspect of you is considered; your physical, mental and emotional health. The class is structured in a way that we are able to offer you a practice that is not only going to avoid contraindicated techniques, the practice is going to support you in reaching your health & wellness goals.
